Money
Your finances at a glance — revenue, cash, profit, invoices — without becoming an accountant.
Most owners find out how the business is *really* doing far too late — at tax time, or when the account runs dry. Money puts the real picture in front of you now: what's coming in, what's going out, what's left, and whether you're on pace for your goal. It's your books and your billing in one place, built for someone who never wants to touch a spreadsheet.
And it's honest. If Money can't work a number out yet — because a bank isn't connected — it shows you an “N/A” and how to fix it, instead of making one up. A number you can trust beats a number that looks nice.
How it works
- Open Money for the dashboard. Revenue this month and where it's headed, revenue against your goal, cash on hand, profit margin, expenses, burn rate, average sale — the vital signs, up front.
- Connect your bank or upload a statement. Link your bank securely (through Plaid) so transactions and balances flow in automatically, or upload a statement / import a CSV if you'd rather not connect. You can also connect tools like QuickBooks, Xero, Stripe, or Square.
- Bill customers and get paid. Create invoices and estimates, build a catalog of your products and services with pricing to drop onto them, and set up recurring invoices that go out on autopilot — weekly, monthly, whatever fits.
- Keep your books true. Budgets let you set envelopes and a monthly revenue goal; Reconcile checks Bizer's records against your real bank statement so you *know* they match; Reports give you a Profit & Loss, your cash position, and a sales-tax set-aside estimate — exportable as CSV.
- Ask Miles about your money. “How was last month?” “What did I make on the Anderson job?” Miles reads your numbers (and any CSVs you've imported) and answers plainly.
What it helps you do
- Know if you're actually making money — real profit, not just what's in the account.
- Get paid faster with clean invoices, saved pricing, and recurring bills that send themselves.
- Trust your books because you can reconcile them against the bank.
- See tax coming with a running set-aside estimate instead of an April surprise.
Questions business owners ask
Is connecting my bank safe? Yes — the connection goes through Plaid, the same secure service thousands of finance apps use, and Bizer asks you to turn on extra login protection first. If you'd still rather not link it, you can upload statements or import a CSV and get most of the value.
Do I have to connect anything to start? No. You can add transactions and send invoices by hand. Connecting just automates the tracking so you're not typing everything in.
Will Bizer ever show me a made-up number? No — that's a deliberate rule. When it can't calculate something from real data, it says “N/A” and points you to what would fix it. Every figure you see is grounded in your actual records.
Does this replace my accountant or bookkeeper? It keeps your books clean and your numbers current all year, which makes their job easier and cheaper — but for filing taxes and the big calls, a pro is still worth it. Money hands them tidy records instead of a shoebox.
Can it do sales tax and payroll? It gives you a sales-tax *set-aside estimate* so you're stashing the right amount as you go — it's a planning tool, not a filing service. Payroll isn't part of Money today.
