Versions, comments, activity, and Trash
Keep history on a document, talk about it in place, and restore anything you deleted by mistake.
Versions
Upload a new version of a file instead of a new file. The newest is marked Current, and the history stays available — so *"send me the version we signed"* is a lookup rather than an archaeology project.
Comments
Leave feedback on the file itself. Comments sit with the document, which is where the conversation about a document belongs.
Activity
A log of everything that's happened to the file: uploads, versions, shares, deletions.
Trash
Deleting moves an item to Trash — the 🗑 icon in the Files header — where you can restore it. Only the owner can permanently delete.
