Reconcile against your bank statement
Confirm your records match the bank, catch duplicates, and lock the period so it stays true.
From Money → Reconcile. Reconciling is how you know your numbers are real.
- Pick an account.
- Enter the statement's beginning balance, ending balance, and date.
- Check off each transaction that appears on your statement. The difference
updates live and should reach $0.
- Lock reconciliation to freeze those transactions so they can't be changed by
accident.
Duplicates
Bizer flags possible duplicates for you to review — the usual cause is one payment arriving from both a photographed receipt and a connected bank feed.
How often
Monthly, right after the statement lands. A reconciled month is a month you never have to re-open.
