Put brand assets and accounts in the business's name (domain, socials, reviews)

If customers buy because of you personally, the business can't be sold — it walks out the door with you. Making the brand independent of the owner means customers trust the company, not just the founder.

Do this

  1. Shift the public face from you to the business brand.
  2. Have team members build the customer relationships.
  3. Make sure marketing and reviews point to the company, not you.
  4. Test it: would customers stay if you stepped back?

Brand Independence Checklist

  • Marketing features the business, not just the owner
  • Team members hold key customer relationships
  • Reviews praise the company and staff
  • Customers contact the business, not your cell
  • Customers would stay if you stepped away
