Write your executive summary
The executive summary is the first thing anyone reads and often the only thing — so it has to sell the whole business in a page. Write it last, once the rest of the plan is clear.
Do this
- Summarize what the business does and the need it fills.
- Highlight your market, your edge, and your team.
- State what you're asking for (funding) and the key numbers.
- Keep it to one page, punchy and clear — write it after the rest.
Executive Summary Checklist
- What the business does and the need it fills
- Who your customers are and the market opportunity
- What makes you different (your edge)
- Key financials and any funding request
- One page, clear, written last
