This is the finish line — the short list that turns "I'm starting a business" into "I'm open." Work through it, lean on the free expert help that's a phone call away, and you'll have covered everything the pros would check. Then go get your first customer.

Do this

1. Run the setup checklist: structure registered, name cleared, EIN, licenses, bank account, insurance.
2. Set up a simple way to get paid and to track money in and out from day one.
3. Get a free second set of eyes — an SBDC advisor or SCORE mentor will review your setup at no cost.
4. Announce you're open: tell everyone you know, and ask Miles to help spread the word.

Launch-day checklist

• Legal structure chosen and registered with the state
• Business name cleared (state + trademark + domain)
• Federal EIN and any state tax accounts set up
• Licenses and permits applied for
• Business bank account open; personal money kept separate
• Insurance in place for your trade
• A way to get paid and to track income + expenses
• Reviewed once, free, by an SBDC advisor or SCORE mentor (sba.gov/local-assistance)
