Say what you do in one clear line

If you can't say what you do in one sentence a stranger instantly gets, your marketing won't work no matter where you put it. The fix is a plain one-liner: who you help, what you do for them, and the result they care about — not a list of features. Nail this once and you can use it everywhere, from your truck to your Google listing.

Do this

  1. Write it plain: "I help [who] [get what result]." No jargon, no cleverness.
  2. Lead with the result they want — peace of mind, no breakdowns, more time — not your features.
  3. Test it on someone outside your business. Do they instantly get it? If not, simplify.
  4. Then use the exact same line everywhere: your listing, your truck, your intro, your posts.

Turn features into a one-liner

People don't buy the feature. They buy the result. Say the result:

FEATURE (what you do) → ONE-LINER (what they get) "Mobile oil changes" → "I change your oil in your driveway, so you never sit in a waiting room again." "Full-service lawn care" → "I keep your yard looking sharp — you never touch a mower." "Licensed & insured handyman" → "The small jobs you keep putting off, handled right the first time."

Your turn: "I help ____________ so they ____________." One clear line, said the same everywhere, beats a clever slogan nobody gets.
