Document a sales follow-up process (defined steps and cadence)
Most sales are lost to silence, not rejection — the lead just never heard back. A simple follow-up process means every prospect gets contacted again, consistently, until they decide.
Do this
- Decide your follow-up rhythm (e.g. day 1, day 3, day 7).
- Use a template so following up is fast and easy.
- Track the next follow-up date for every open lead.
- Keep going until you get a yes or a clear no.
The Follow-Up Cadence + Script
Cadence after sending a quote: Day 1: "Just making sure you got the quote — happy to answer questions." Day 3: "Wanted to check in — anything I can clarify to help you decide?" Day 7: "Still glad to do this for you. Should I hold your spot for next week?" Day 14: "I'll close this out for now — just reach out whenever you're ready."
Most owners quit after one try. The money is in follow-ups two and three.
