Conduct monthly performance reviews

People do their best work when they get regular, honest feedback. Monthly performance reviews keep your team aligned, growing, and accountable — and catch small issues before they become turnover.

Do this

  1. Meet one-on-one with each team member monthly.
  2. Review what went well, what to improve, and goals.
  3. Listen as much as you talk — ask what they need.
  4. Agree on a few focus areas for next month.

Monthly 1-on-1 Checklist

  • What went well this month?
  • What was hard or got in the way?
  • Progress on their goals
  • What do they need from you?
  • 1-3 focus areas for next month
