Write basic quality standards (a checklist or acceptance criteria)
Quality expectations you can name are quality you can deliver every time. Setting a basic standard — what 'good' looks like — keeps your work consistent and your reputation solid as you grow.
Do this
- Define what a great result looks like for your typical job.
- Write down 3-5 things that must be true every single time.
- Check your work against that list before you call it done.
- Ask customers if it met expectations, and adjust the standard.
Quality Standard Checklist
- Describe what 'great' looks like for your core job
- List 3-5 non-negotiables for every job
- Do a quick quality check before finishing
- Confirm the customer is satisfied
- Update the standard when you find a gap
