Spot when someone's ready to buy
Customers tell you when they're ready — you just have to catch it. The moment they start asking about timing, price details, or how it'd work for them, they've shifted from curious to interested. Miss the signal and you keep selling past the yes. Catch it and closing feels natural, not pushy.
Do this
- Listen for 'how soon,' 'how much would it be for…,' and 'would you be able to…' — those are buying signals.
- When you hear one, stop selling and gently test the water: 'Want me to get you on the schedule?'
- Watch tone and body language too — leaning in, 'we've been meaning to deal with this.'
- Don't talk past the yes. Once they're ready, help them decide — don't keep pitching.
Buying signals to listen for
- 'How soon could you start?'
- 'How much would it be for just the…?'
- 'Would you be able to do it on a weekend?'
- They start picturing it: 'So you'd come to my place?'
- They bring up a specific date or deadline
- 'We've been meaning to get this handled'
- They ask about payment or what happens next
- They go quiet and thoughtful instead of skeptical
