The 2-text rule for following up with quotes
Most quotes go cold because no one follows up. Two short, specific text messages — one at 48 hours, one at 7 days — double the conversion rate without ever feeling pushy.
Do this
- Text 1 at 48 hours: "Got any questions on the quote? Happy to walk you through it."
- Text 2 at 7 days: "Wanted to check in before I close out the file — still interested?"
- If no reply after text 2, leave it. Don't chase further; let them come back when ready.
- Track which texts land — the wording matters less than the timing.
Two-Text Follow-Up Scripts
48-hour text: Hey [first name] — [your name] from [business]. Wanted to check you got the quote we sent over the other day. Any questions? Happy to walk through any of it.
7-day text: Hey [first name] — just a quick one. Closing out my file for the [job type] estimate from last week. Still interested, or should I move it off the list? No pressure either way.
