Define roles and responsibilities for team members

When everyone assumes someone else has it covered, things fall through. Defining roles and responsibilities makes it clear who owns what — so work gets done without you chasing it.

Do this

  1. List the main jobs that keep the business running.
  2. Assign a clear owner to each (even if it's you for now).
  3. Write a one-line description of what each role is responsible for.
  4. Share it so everyone knows their lane and each other's.

Roles & Responsibilities Checklist

  • List the core functions (sales, delivery, money, admin)
  • Name one owner per function
  • Write a one-line responsibility for each
  • Remove overlaps and gaps
  • Share it with the whole team
