Optimize Your Google Business Profile
Get found · Local discovery · About an hour of your time · 1 week · By Bizer
For a local or service-area business, the Google Business Profile is often the first thing a customer sees, before the website. This campaign audits what you have and drafts what is missing.
The objective
Make your Google Business Profile complete, accurate and convincing, so nearby customers can find you and choose you.
When this campaign fits
You serve a local area and your Google Business Profile is missing, incomplete or out of date.
What you will need
- Access to your Google Business Profile (or the details you see in it)
- Your services, hours and service area
- A few recent photos of your work, team or location
What Bizer prepares
- An audit of the details you supply against what a complete profile includes
- Suggested primary and secondary categories
- A business description and short service descriptions
- A photo checklist and a list of corrections
What you do
- Verify every fact
- Update the profile in Google
What you get
A profile optimization checklist plus approved copy for your description and services.
Step by step
- Step 1: Bizer reviews the profile details you share and lists what is missing or wrong.
- Step 2: Bizer drafts categories, the business description and service descriptions.
- Step 3: You check every fact: hours, phone, address or service area, services.
- Step 4: You update the profile in Google and add the photos on the checklist.
- Step 5: Check profile views, calls and direction requests over the next month.
How you will know it worked
Work completed
- Profile fields updated: Every field on the checklist
Campaign response
- Calls, website visits and direction requests: From the profile, where Google shows them
Business outcome
- New customers who found you on Google: Ask new customers how they found you
A finished campaign is not a guaranteed result. Each measure is tracked on its own.
What it needs connected
- Google Business Profile (you update it yourself; Bizer drafts the copy)
Why the profile matters
When someone nearby searches for what you do, Google often shows a map and a short list of businesses before any website. Your profile is your storefront in that list. An incomplete one, with no photos, a vague description or the wrong hours, gives the customer a reason to tap the next business instead.
What a complete profile has
- The right primary category. This is the single most important choice. Pick the category that matches what most of your customers hire you for.
- Accurate basics. Name exactly as it appears on your signage, phone, hours, and an address or service area.
- A real description. Plain words about what you do and where. Google does not allow links or promotional claims in it.
- Services. Each one listed, with a short description.
- Photos. Recent, real, and of your actual work.
Keep it honest
Do not add keywords to your business name, list a location you do not have, or copy a competitor's description. Those shortcuts can get a profile suspended. Bizer drafts copy from the details you give it and flags anything it could not confirm.
After you update it
Changes can take a few days to appear. Google shows calls, website visits and direction requests in the profile's own insights; note the numbers on the day you finish so you have something to compare against.
