Teach Miles the spreadsheets that run your business
Your price list, your job tracker, your inventory count — the real database of your business is probably a spreadsheet. Say "learn my spreadsheets" and Miles studies each one WITH you, then builds it into a custom skill. From then on "what did we quote Sandra?" isn't a search through tabs — it's an answer.
Do this
- Start the flow: say "learn my spreadsheets." Miles lists the sheets in your Drive by name — he reads nothing until you point at one — and asks which ones actually run the business.
- Teach him one sheet: he looks at the tabs and headers, then checks his read with you. "Column F looks like the invoice date — right?" Two minutes of questions beats a wrong guess forever.
- He builds the skill: a custom skill named after the sheet's job — Job Tracker, Price List — with your own phrases as its trigger. It appears on your Skills screen, where you can read, edit, or switch it off any time.
- Use it like you'd say it: "check the tracker," "how much sealant is left," "what did we charge the Hendersons?" Miles knows exactly which sheet, tab, and column — because you taught him.
- Make your rhythm automatic: if you check the sheet every Monday for overdue jobs, say so — Miles turns it into a recurring check that lands in your Stream.
- He reads, you write: Miles never changes a sheet. When something needs updating, he says exactly what and where, and captures it as a task for you.
Prompts to steal
Learn my spreadsheets. Learn my price list — I'll walk you through it. Check the job tracker — what's overdue? Every Monday, check the tracker and tell me what's stuck. Learn another spreadsheet.
